Protect our Troops
National Day of Prayer -May 3, 2007
Scripture: “Blessed is he who has regard for the weak; the LORD delivers him in times of trouble. The LORD will protect him and preserve his life; he will bless him in the land and not surrender him to the desire of his foes.†-Psalm 41:1-2 (NIV)
Prayer: God of power and might, Lord of mercy and grace. You are creator of heaven and earth, and You reign and rule forever and ever. Your name is high above every other name, and there is no one who can challenge Your power.
Lord, You have compassion for the weak and You preserve those who defend the powerless. As our troops defend the powerless today in troubled places all around the world, let Your mighty hand of protection cover them, and preserve their lives.
Lord we ask that today would be a day of divine intervention and deliverances from death for our troops around the world. Surround them with Your favor as a shield, and guard their lives today as they guard the lives of others. Bless them Lord in the Land where they serve, and do not surrender them to the desire of their foes. Consider their lives precious in Your sight, and extend Your hand of grace, mercy and protection to them.
Make a testimony for Yourself today Lord, as You stand between those who seek to destroy, and those who serve to protect. Honor the brave hearts of our soldiers, and the heartfelt prayers of those who love them. May Your name be glorified by the testimonies of protection and deliverance that come forth from this day. For it is in God we trust. Amen.

I thank you all!

Our Father in heaven, may your powerful right hand protect our servicemen and women, may your Holy Spirit walk beside and guide all who serve, and may the love that came to us in Jesus Christ be made known wherever they are. We also pray for our enemies, that they may come to know the God Who is Love who loves them. In the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, I pray.

As a Canadian intercessor I lift up my brothers and sisters who serve in the Armed Forces. Protect them Jesus? Hide them and surround them with your presence? Make them salt and light? Open up doors for them to share the gospel? Be with their families and comfort them? Let intercessors rise up all over the earth to see you kingdom come and for your will to be done on earth in every nation in Jesus name? Amen.

Father,
I lift up all of our troops to You. In the name above every name that is named under heaven, in Jesus Christ of Nazareths’ name, Let the precious blood of Jesus be applied over our troops, and let a blood line of Jesus be around each and every soldier, I ask You Jesus to surround them like a shield. You are their protection, and their very present help in the time of trouble. Lord, keep them alert and finely tuned to the plots and plans of the enemy, and order their very steps. Father, I ask You to minister to them by Your Spirit, and by Your word. Lord, You said Your word will not drop to the ground, not one jot or tittle, so I send the word to the troops, Make haste O God, to deliver them, make haste to help them O Lord, (Ps 70) Father, encourage them as only You can, Lord, cause them to hope in You, to look to the hills from where their help comes from. Thank You Father, that You hear our prayers, that Your ear is attentive to our petitions. Thank You for Your faithfulness from generation to generation. You are so good Lord,
Amen

Dear Lord, please keep Your hedge of protection around our troops as they battle for our freedom everywhere around the world. Send Your angels to stand guard over them. I pray also for You to bless our President and every member of the Senate and Congress with wisdom and Biblical guidance in these trying times. Be with each of us and guide us in Your ways. Forgive us Lord for our wrongs and bring us back into the place You would have us to be. Help us to be the light in this dark world that You intended us to be, so we can help the people around us to know the hope that we have, which is Jesus Christ. Help them to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Father, I pray also for the peace of Jerusalem and I ask that You keep Your hedge of protection over Israel. Turn our hearts toward home. Lord, please surround our men and women with your angels. Supply them with the strength needed for each task that is ahead of them.
Comment by Lois — May 3, 2007
I stand in agreement with other Christians around the world, that our Lord’s hand will cover our soldiers, hide them in the shadow of His wings and give His angels charge over them. That our God will give them wisdom and discernment to keep them from evil. That our soldiers will call upon His Holy Name and will speak of His Love to others and show them His love wherever they go.

Psalm 121
I lift my eyes unto the hills
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.
HE will not allow your foot to be moved;
HE who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold,HE who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is your keeper;
The LORD is your shade at your right hand
The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall perserve you from all evil;
HE shall preserve your soul.
The LORD shall preserve your going out
and your coming in.
From this time forth, and even forevermore.

Nothing is impossible for God!
May his love fill the hearts of our enemies, that they may tire of war and rebuild their nation and their families in peace.
May God soften the hearts of our soldiers, and give them the courage to forgive and forget the attrocities of war and return to a life of peace.
I ask God to watch over our government and our people, and grant us all the wisdom to find a way to help our enemies find a solution that will bring lasting peace to a people who have forgotten what it is to see their children grow old in harmony.
May God help us all and bring alll of the different soldiers home to their families around the world, safe and sound, to labor at war no longer.
This is my prayer to my loving God, whose mercy knows no bounds and whose forgivness is boundless! Miracles happen every day! Perhaps, if it is his will, the miracle we all need is already in the works! May God be with all of us during these turbulent times and may his peace decend upon the world soon!
Comment by Rosa Montes — May 3, 2007
Father, send your holy angels to attend them. May your protection be their shield. May the government of God be extended through them as they trust in you.

Dear Lord, Open the eyes of all the people in America so that our men have not died in vain.
Help them to realize that our troops are sacrificing their lives over there so that we will not be fighting them in the streets of the wonderful United States of America.
Comment by Doris — May 3, 2007
As Paul and Silas prayed and sang in the jail, so may we on this day for our nation and our soldiers around the world. Prayer changes things, but prayer and praise combined tugs at God’s heart and He comes and sits in it. Lord, do Your perfect will today in all the earth.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven, give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever. Dear Lord,
I pray this day with my dear friend serving in Iraq. May he and all of our troops be safe and in your care. May they all come home to their families safely and may we never forget the sacrifices made by the soldiers and their families. They are true heroes but we all know without you they could not survive. Please guide and protect them. Until they all come home…
In Jesus name,
AMEN

Amen to every prayer above! …and, Lord, please give your angels charge over each of our soldiers! Assure them as the prophet did his servant, ‘Those who are with us are more than those who are with them’. Spirit of God, open our soldiers’ eyes that they may see the armies of the Lord.’ …and may each one place his/her confidence in You, Lord.

Lord Jesus we thank you for your protecting Hand upon your sons and daughters in the military all over the nations. We thank you that you are the God of all the nations. I humbly ask for your precious Blood to be sprinkled over all their minds and I ask for you to release your warring angels of protection. Lord your word declares that you will give your angels charge over us so Lord as your Word declares in Psa. 91:11 I declare according to your word that your angels are given charge over them. Keep them safe Father tuck them under your wing and bring them home safe and their families. I pray in Faith knowing you hear this prayer and will answer it because you are a covenant keeping God and I thank you for it. In your precious name Lord Jesus I pray. Amen

Precious Jesus:
We are so helpless without You today to even know how to pray as we ought for our men & women who are at war, both here & abroad, except to say: “Not our will, but THINE be done!” Cover them with Thy protecting Hand of Mercy & lead them into Peace of soul & spirit. Comfort the grieving ones over their loss of sons/daughters, husbands/wives, mothers/fathers, brothers/sisters. Give us a heart & mind full of Peace, then all of these wars will be useless. Help us, Lord Jesus, to Love our neighbor as we do ourselves, & if we don’t love ourselves, please Heal our spirits that we might begin to do so, but not be full of pride & ’self’.
Thank You, Abba Father, for Loving us SO MUCH that You sent Your Son [who willingly came] to die for, even me! Thank You, Jesus, for giving us HOPE anew when You rose up from that grave, FREEING us from sin & shame if we accept You as our Savior.
Amen!

Lord, please bless those who consider themselves our enemies, whose hearts are full of hatred for the “infidels.” Let them experience you as the God of love and compassion for everyone. Soften their hearts of stone, strengthen their minds and hands against evil. And please, especially soften the heart of the one who may be at this moment working on the bomb that might be used to harm my daughter.

[II Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver our troops from every evil work, and will preserve them unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen!]
Father GOD,
We decree that our troops, allies, and friendly forces are delivered perpetually from every work of evil purposed against them, and when the enemy comes in, like a flood your Holy Spirit raises a standard against them. We bind, forbid, and declare illegal the strongman of fear that would attack our troops abroad and at home, and we release the spirit of power, love and a sound mind to each and every one. We decree that in peace our troops will lay down and sleep, for you Father GOD make them to dwell in pure safety. We thank and praise you for answering our troops before they call and for hearing them while they are yet speaking. We decree that are troop are delivered and honored perpetually in Jesus Holy name, AMEN!
